Living with your canine companion can be a highly rewarding and mutually beneficial experience. As a “Canine Companionship Coach,” I am here to listen, observe and assist you in understanding your individual canine relationship. As your coach, we work together building clearer communication with your canine companion to attain greater perspective on psychological, spiritual, intuitive and instinctive issues. We work with communication in our exchange of “energy.” While I am neither an animal communicator nor an animal trainer per se, each of our companion relationships benefits as we develop more abilities to detect the shifts of energy. I may recommend certain specialists if needs arise, although many behavioral issues resolve themselves as communication and trust improve, as in our human relationships.
Although I believe we naturally have the ability to communicate well with the animal-kind, we somehow block and discard our intuition. We also tend to project our own feelings upon our dogs; for example, an overweight dog can result from our own over-eating and assuming the dog needs more food as well. The food and weight example is an easier one to identify while other psychological entanglements can be more obscure. As humans, we don?t observe each other?s energy nearly as much as dogs do and thus are usually not aware of our own shift of energy. Since dogs take a higher importance to sensing our energy rather than what we are verbalizing, there is much room for misunderstanding. Instinctual behavior is also foreign to us. Dogs respond to our commitment, consistency and clear communications. As your coach, I provide you with verbal feedback and am the catalyst for you to gain confidence in your intuitive self as you develop your relationship with your canine companion.
Your dog is a mirror that reflects your spiritual self. The ?fog on the mirror? is our lack of communication and understanding of canine companions and us sending them mixed signals. I am here to help clear the fog that separates you from that mirror. I do not believe that dogs are substitutes for our human relationships, but rather add to the richness of our experience and allow us to see the world and ourselves in new ways
Although my coaching is not directed at one?s own personal development, finding joy, fulfillment and success in life are often side effects of a great canine companionship. My canine companions have taught me much about life as they have improved my observation and intuition. This may be somewhat of an exaggeration, but I feel as Franz Kafka said, ?All knowledge, the totality of all questions and answers, is contained in the dog.? As we learn to listen to and understand our canine friends, we naturally come to realize many benefits in our own personal lives. For example, dogs feel safe when they have structure; i.e., a pack hierarchy where they know their place. Their training requires us to provide consistent and immediate feedback. Such needs when recognized by us, gives us their respect as well as practice at asserting ourselves. As we develop our comfort with authority as well as our consistent behavior towards our dogs, these attributes support us in other life situations.
Our coaching sessions can take a variety of forms. Being with you and your canine companion provides me the best insight. As time allows, we may have personal sessions as well as telephone or e-mail sessions. Dogs have become “man’s best friend” because of the rewarding companionship they offer to us. It is up to you to accept their offer and enjoy the wealth you’ll share together for many years to come. My work with you transcends from coach to catalyst as your canine companion adds to your daily joy and becomes a mirror for your continued personal growth.
